The Old Lamp Factory

Where the Philips story first began

The Old Lamp Factory in the center of Eindhoven, where Gerard Philips first started out in 1891, has been fully refurbished to create the splendid Philips Museum. An imposing glass gallery has been built around the front of the building. Since it has been renovated, with its distinctive glass façade in place, the Factory looks almost as if it has been set in a display case. The original structure, a listed building, has been left intact.
